the seeds takes to long to come up to beat the grass so try this it works great after planting the seed and watering cover the seeds with a board 2 x 4 and the seeds will come up in about 3 days with no grass at all then put a little dust to the plants to keep the grass away

hydroponics. I plan to try some deep water hydro for lettuce soon. Look it up!

Thanks for the tips.....Donald

I shred my cabbage like for slaw and then steam till transparent and spread out on dehydrator trays ..Wonderful as a dehydrated food for stews or added to stir fry ..The flavor of sweet cabbage livens up everything from plain hot cooked rice just a tad soupy with a few handfuls of dehydrated cabbage crumbled up and stirred in with a lid cover and no heat ,wait about 10 min and enjoy ..but I dehydrate watermelon too ,,almost everything really improves flavor yet requires no jars,or freezer woes

Best advice I can give you is get online and do a search for a vegetable planting guide for your area. These are usually published by a university in your Zone. It’ll give varieties, fertilization, spacing, planting depth and when to plant……Donald

About the only vegs I'll start in peat pots are my tomatoes, peppers and eggplant. I plant the rest directly in the garden then thin when they come up.......Donald

@webcajun I love watching your videos because your climate is so much different to ours. My parents live in Spain, and my mum will be starting her Spring planting about now.
-
@clairesallotment … Seeding directly into the garden works in the fall cause you’re planting while it’s still warm. For the spring garden we need to start the seeds inside……..Donald
-
Very interesting, thank you. We have to start the seeds inside in a greenhouse because it's too cold when they need to be sown.
-
@Teddybearcop48 ... Start your plants 6-8 weeks before you plan on planting them out in the garden. The calendar on my web site may help......Donald
-
@sharons04 ... I planted “Copenhagen Market” which seems to hold real well in the garden…….Donald
-
