Planting Broccoli in the Fall Garden - September 2015
Tips, Tricks
The fall is not only a time to enjoy some cooler temperatures but it’s my favorite season in the garden. Lettuce, cabbage, carrots, beets, broccoli, etc. can all be directly seeded without the need for heating mats and grow lights. Pruners: http://catesgarden.com

I got some clippers like that, they great grab them and go. I always use bypass never anvil type cutters. This is the first time seeing bananas by you and I've been looking. They look good, do you get bananas ? I sow my cole crops in the garden but the hot sun really bakes the clay so I have to remove the crust for the seeds to come through. I put a lot of compost so looking to negate that clay. A whole pond full of muck also if I could get it out.

Hey Donald. I've been watching heaps of your videos and you gave me the inspiration to try growing okra for the first time. I am a keen gardener (I also work for the state dept of agriculture). It is spring here and we enjoy a Mediterranean climate (long dry summers) so I think that okra will grow well here. The seed I've found here are 'Royal burgundy'. I will try them using your recipes. It is all good fun. Thanks for your inspiration. It is great to relax watching your videos/tips after work.

Bonjour from Perth, Australia Donald. Love your videos and subscribed this morning. You have a very large garden. Do you preserve your produce if you have too much food? Love your tomato plants they are huge. Cheers from down under.

please talk about your beautiful grass

What state are you farming in....??? My growing season is # 4.

I planted my Fall garden but I'm not as awesome as you are. I used starters for my broccoli and multiple types of cauliflower. Planted beets from seeds- never had luck with getting many to germinate, and any that did never formed a bulb.

What grow zone are you in?

I had real problems with bitter cucumbers this year. Any suggestions for me? Sure missed your input this growing season! Even though we have way different areas with me in Washington state..I love your input!

I water first, then lay the seeds then cover with a little dirt or compost. Those little seeds move around if you water them.

Gotta love volunteer veggies in the garden when they produce. I am skipping the fall garden this year since I am in the process of rebuilding my new greenhouse!
