Planting Broccoli and Cauliflower - Two Protein Packed and Cool Weather Veggies!
Tips, Tricks
Visit https://calikimgardenandhome.com to get your free growing guide, “Grow 3 Vegetables in 6 Weeks”. Today I am planting broccoli and cauliflower, two cool weather crops that are also a great source of plant based protein! These veggies grow best when the temp is in the 60's and 70's, so if you have mild winters, give them a try in your garden! Hi Kim, thanks for the information about broccoli planting! I was wondering what is the name of the columnar little pines close to your fence, I am sorry for the topic deviation. Thank you!

Another great looking vid! Thx...

I'm experimenting with planting warm weather plants in the later months also (in San Diego). I am having success with yellow squash, tomatoes and bell peppers...with the help of epsom salt of course.

The squash and watermelon are like vegetable bonsai. Maybe you are starting a new thing!

Off the subject question, but is that charcoal around your fountain? And if so, is it there for a reason?

Planted lettuce, radishes, herbs, brocolli and kale. I am in Indiana so have 3 raised beds with hoops and plastic that worked well last winter. In fact, we are having some nice days (60-70 degrees) so have removed plastic so all my veggies can enjoy the sun and warm air. Love you videos.

I have to try growing those. What's the big central piece of that garden? A water feature? Looks nice!

I have swiss chad, collard greens, cabbage, lettuce growing. I still have lots of bell peppers growing from the spring and summer, and soon I will be putting in my strawberry plants so that they can over winter and be ready next spring/summer. My blueberry and black berry plants are starting to go dormant.

Broccoli and cauliflower are two cool weather crops that always do well for me. Dont worry about mixing them up, they grow to about the same size and it will become obvious in good time which is which.
Other great cool weather crops I like are kohlrabi, leeks, garlic, kale and onions. They all do great in cool weather. Lettuce beetroot and silverbeet/swiss chard will also well in your climate I think.
