You do know that asparagus and alpine strawberries are good companion plants? I grow alpine strawberries and micro clover with my Mary Washington asparagus...it was my French neighbours that clued me in. Good tip on spreading out the roots, I made that mistake way back as well...LOL.

So how do these look now? I haven't come across an update yet.

Hi love your videos. Can you tell me how to find you on Facebook? Thanks !

I found some purple passion asparagus finally! Your video recommends a planting space of 2 ft per plant but everything I've read about purple asparagus says 6-8 inches. Why is the purple asparagus different then green when it comes to spacing? I would think 12" would be better but I'm a go by the package instructions kind of lady lol. HELP PLEASE lol.

I am wanting to plant some purple passion asparagus. How many would I need to plant for a good harvest for two people? I have a 4x5 raised bed I was planning it for asparagus, do I need to do anything special to prepare the soil beyond adding a lot of compost? The only. Place I've seen this purple asparagus is at Walmart so far, online ordering makes me nervous lol.

I would love to get in contact with you. I have a raised garden area in central Arkansas I struggle with lol. I just built four hugelkulture beds to try out also. How could I message you I'm not familiar with u tube

Oh my goodness I need to get a youtube channel so I can get seeds. Seeds are so expensive here. they are like 4 dollars for like 10 seeds here.

You are one of the best and most passionate gardeners to teach me. Thank you. Now I want to get raised bed materials and plant! Rascal is a bit grumpy because he knew there were goodies and he hadn't got them yet. Love your best buddy.

Hmm. Well, planted some strawberries in hydroponics a week ago and today planted some in dirt containers. Looks like I need to go back and spread out those roots. Oh well, the soil is nice & light, shouldn't be much of a problem. I just got those from Michigan Bulb too: Mine looked a lot better than yours here though. Thanks for the tips Ray.

I planted some asparagus from a root about 6 inches a few years back and only get one little stalk every now and then... what happened?

Thanks, Ray, for this video. I've been wanting to grow asparagus, but was too scared to try it. I'm going to go out and get some to plant now. I'm so glad that I found your videos about a month ago. I'm going back and watching all of them. They are both educational and entertaining.

That was a great vid Ray. Awesome tip on the spacing. I recently put a punnet of 8 seedlings in a small area because it seemed like a logical thing to do. Spring hasn't hit yet so I can probably transplant a few out without too much damage. I also have 2 crowns to plant tomorrow so won't make that mistake again. Appreciate your insights into the way you grow and the way you avoid getting into the whole right and wrong way to do things arguments. Cheers mate

I need some advice/insight and I'm not finding what I need by browsing the web. I was hoping you could help me by answering some questions.
* Will my strawberry plants be okay since I planted them in late June?
* The plants looked wilted and spotty, it that okay considering they are mail ordered plants?
* The crowns look small with no sign of green on them. Any thoughts?
I removed the foliage from them and there was very little. -
Did your buddy Ray tell you where he found those huge asparagus starts for sale? I've never seen them like that.

For 10 years deer walked trough my garden and didn't mess with any of it..... Well besides this one time where the stomped all my watermelons.... But this year they have ate all my beans, sweet potatoes, trimmed my tomatoes back and now they're staring on my hilled potatoes!
