That is nice! Any idea what it takes to get it to produce seed to collect for the next planting?

I want to use the same seed you did. What is it and where can I get some?

can i make LSD with this rye?

Beautiful looking field of rye, nice job!

you said you used a broadcast spreader to plant the seeds?

I have to watch the ripening and judge the moisture content, my father once told me to watch the "hook" of the bend in the seed head as it dries, must be yellow and pointing down twoard the ground. I decided to try harvesting by hand with a siclke bar in sections so hopefully the seed heads don't shatter before I get done. We'll see, rye is a new experiment for me. I am thinking two weeks out till harvest.

roughly when does this get rip for cutting? I am in North central PA so I think we would be close in season. Just asking so I can figure my rotation of crops.

Good Question! I kept running over it with the disc harrow only on dry days so as not to destroy the soil structure, but the perennials are tough to kill, you have to be persistent.

Very nice job on the rye field. How did you kill the grasses before you planted?
