Phil's Gardening Tips And Tricks Recycling Old Plastic Bottles As Pots Wicker Method Number 1

I am using old plastic soft drink / soda bottles as pots for raising seedlings. What I have done here is using the old plastic bottles as a wicking pot. The plastic bottle is about half filled with sand and then a sponge is used to keep the growing medium and sand separated. The sponge being highly absorbent draws the water up into the growing medium keeping the growing medium moist and keeping the seedling with ample water. It is a great way to save water when using containers.
