"I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand." - Confucius Perfect World Syndicate is now in open beta! check out http://www.pwsyndicate.com for details. My job as a tester is done! Maybe now I'll get to make mass pvp videos again. ;) Incase anyone is confused: I am not a GM. I was a closed (but not confidential) beta tester. The server has a completely different take on the world of private servers: You do not farm for your gears - you start off PK ready, and then farm for other things to enhance your game-play. For more details, just check out their website xD I've already made two Assassin 1v1 videos in a row now, so to change things up a bit, I am playing a Psychic instead of an Assassin this time! I've only really PvPed as a Psychic for a few days, so I'm no where near experienced at it yet. I probably could've done my combos differently, or used different skills. Nonetheless though, it's a good change of pace and it helped me gain a better understanding of the strength of weaknesses of the different classes. This video primarily focuses on my 1 v 1 with Jib, a good friend of mine, as well as a scene of me gank tanking. The reason that I won most of the fights was because Jib hasn't played Assassin for a month and is still very rusty. He needs some time to derust, but once he does, he is excellent at his class. These fights were a good practice and learning experience for both of us. A test of our potential, a test of stress - a stresstest. Psychics are an extremely squishy class due to a lack of p. def buffs. Cashshoppers on PWI makes it seem otherwise, but once you played a Psychic end game, you realize that almost any class can 1 shot them in Black Voodo. I was at risk of 1 shot several times in this video. White Voodo doesn't make me the invincible tanking machine that most people think either. I can, and have died through white voodo. All it takes is a good zerk crit, and I can even be bypassed in White. This high risk of getting 1 shot explains the reason why I play so defensively. I must make sure that I am in immunity when going into black. If I get locked, the fight is lost. Furthermore, my Psychic is Demon. Most people will swear by Sage, but in my (albeit limited) experience, I disagree completely. Demon Psychics are simply a different playstyle. Sage and Demon are two sides of the same coin - but most people only see the Sage side. While Sage Psychic have a good defense so that they may live long enough to pull off a good offense, Demon Psychics have a good offense so that it is not necessary for them to live long enough to pull off a defense. Most people will say that Demon psychics simply cannot live long enough because of Psychic Will, Soul of Silence, Bubble of Life, Lack of Chi and all that. Yet, I have done so plenty of times against the strongest DD class end game, so really, there is no difference. Psychics are not a class where you can simply compare cultivation on a skill by skill basis. Instead, you have to look at the grand scale of things - the big picture. Sage Psychics live longer yes. They can purify off debuffs, they can psychic will for longer, their soul of silence lasts longer, and they get more chi to do everything all over again. Yet, can they actually kill their target? End Game PvP is not something to be taken lightly. You do not simply 1 shot your opponent. In fact, without a combo, many times you can fail to kill your opponent entirely, and have to try again. That is where Demon comes in. Demon has two main skills - Landslide and Tidespirit, both of which makes them crit like an archer. With the skill effects of Demon, you can almost always kill your opponent once given the chance. This is the difference that people don't seem to gasp. It's a difference in play style, not a difference in effectiveness. While Sage Psychics can live longer, they do not manage to land a kill most of the time. While Demon Psychics do not live as longer, they do manage to land a kill most of the time. Sage Psychics get more opportunities, but cannot make use of all of them. Demon Psychics get less opportunities, but manage to make good use of every one of them. The same applies for Mass PvP. A Sage psychic would play a more supportive role, while a demon psychic might play a more offensive role. In the short amount of time I played, I've experienced the playing style of both Demon and Sage. I believe that I will remain as Demon. Fear not though, for I am still playing Assassin as my main. Instead, I simply have more classes to play now. I hope that you will enjoy this video! Character Played: Clairvoyant - Level 105 Demon Psychic Music Played: Andrew Rayel feat.
