I planted my chives from seeds about 5 years ago and it comes back each year looking great! I'm always amazed by these perennials :) My sage plant survived the winter and is looking kind of bad at the moment, but it will perk up once the weather gets warmer. I love #perennials I am going to be using my chives as a companion plant for some carrots and beets. Chives make a wonderful companion plant for almost everything in the garden with the exception of peas and beans. This winter when my chives go dormant I will be dividing this plant into 2 or 3 different plants because at the moment they are a bit crowded, and then I will have more delicious chive plants for free!
