The whole concept and esthetic look of bog filters has me hooked. I'm currently in the process of building a 12x8ft pond with 28feet of bog filter, some within the pond but most adding on but part of the pond, I'm hoping this will also create a more natural shape and draw the eye from the rectangular shape the pond will actually be. Great video's by the way, I'm uploading my journey. Digging at the moment!

Hi there,
is this as effective or better than a multi bay vortex filter and bead filter?
what size bog would be required for a 2800 gal pond with about 30 koi stocked?
really like this concept.
great videos as always
thanks ☺ -
I love your videos. Where do you buy your plants from? It's really hard to find water plants. I bought some from Dr Fosters and Smith

Love your videos Eric! Its inspired me to build a similar design in a long below ground planter I have near our entryway. Will be about 400 gallons. My 12 year old son loves fish, frogs, plants, etc so he is going to have fun. Question for you. I'd like to have just a simple wide spillway (waterfall). I'm thinking that if I have it this way, it makes the other exit pipes (emergency and main that is under water level) unnecessary. Do you agree? There should not be a reason to have an emergency outlet with a wide main spillway?
Also, what size pump did you use on this project? Thank you! -
The uv clarifier has been the very best investment we have made with our pond. In 2 days it took our pond from pea green to crystal clear. now we run the clarifier one day a week to maintain clear water. Koi Pond build UV Clarifier and filtration

Hello Pond Digger, I have a 150 gl pond, I love the bog filter, how do you do maintenance on it and from what I can tell is that you have to disassemble the bog to clean it?
