Starry is going to need our help, she has been in a bad accident. Details
are here: https://www.gofundme.com/starryhilder
A GoFundMe page was started on her behalf. Even $1 would go a long way to help her
during this crisis in her and her family's life. I created an email address that
I will share with Starry and her family, they will receive 100% of the proceeds
by using this address. I have listed the address at the hospital where you can
send cards or care packages on the GoFundMe page if you prefer send something
through the mail, just so everything is in one central location. Starry has a
daytime job as a nurse and needs our support to help with bills and running her
homestead while she is recovering. As you all know she also contributes
immensely to her homestead's upkeep and her contribution will be missed. If
everyone donates only $1 it will go a long way to help her keep things running.
If you can't donate but still want to help, here is a poster you can
print and share: http://tinyurl.com/j988m54
Here is a link to an update video she posted two days ago regarding her condition: https://youtu.be/4Til0Cj-yKc
Thank you for anything you can do to help. -

hi starry, we are in the first month of fall in New Zealand and we are now starting to get lite frosts is it time to start wintering the pepper plants? cheers
-
Someone recently told me that peppers and tomatoes can be perennial here in Arizona or last at least 2-3 years if we just cover them outside for 1 month in our coolest month since the winters are so mild here. Isn't that neato! We'll see what happens with mine this winter.

Can we get a peek at the pepper plants indoors? Did they grow leaves inside or are they as dormant as they were when you put them inside? Thanks :)
-
hi i got a question. Going to start a BTE garden. For the layer of compost below the mulch can i put 5 inches of cow humus and just plant directly into that?
-
You are just great! I just LOVE all this. I'm planning an overnight pajama party (when I actually have good WiFi) to make coffee and watch your Vids, Starry! xoxo

Bloopers are ALWAYS entertaining! Quick question: Your style of bending over looking at the camera is sort of your signature. Is it because you want your audience to think you are looking up to them? I'm reminded of the kindergarten teacher who gets down to the level of the kids to look at them straight on...LOL.

Odd. When we lived in north TX, the peppers and tomatoes were practically the only plants that DIDN'T get aphids.
Okay, so I just got done reading a gardening book that says that you can overwinter your peppers where they are in the garden. You simply cut them down to the base and pile mulch up over it, and it will come up bigger and stronger and more productive the next year. I'm definitely going to try that next yr - and you can do it with eggplant, too.
That said, I've been growing two bell pepper plants in pots this yr specifically b/c I wanted to be able to let them continue producing inside the house this winter. -
Ha Ha I Loved It. Great video especially the bloopers. Definitely put a smile on my face.Love You Guys. God Bless
