Do you need to spray the area where you cut off the leaves and also I noticed on other videos you didn't spray the roots when you cut them when repotting?

hey Brad, I have phalaenopisis that's done flowering so I applied some keiki paste to two of the nodes on it and I can see the two spikes have a new growth of a young plant growing. the problem is that the mother plant last two leaves turned yellow and one of the spike is browning from the base of the plant and I am worried they might not make it. Is there anything I can do to save them? Thanks very much

Sometimes it seems that you have to take orchid classes to master their care. It gets very involved as all disciplines I guess.

My friend gave me an orchid a few years back. It was doing FINE and bloomed so much. Now it's got all yellow leaves. It isn't a phal. and I don't know what kind of orchid it is. Maybe a Vanda. I repotted it in a plastic slatted pot and going to leave it alone. I hope it comes back. It's a sentimental orchid : (.......

Great info. Thank You.

if the leaves are green and drooping should I cut them off

It looked like there might be scale on the Phal you started with (in the center of the plant). That might explain some of the yellow leaves and the marks under the one leaf.

Hey, Brad! A friend gave me an old orchid and I want to try to save it. It was growing in a rotting medium. I have replanted it but I wonder if i shoul cut some leaves to make it easier for it to grow. It has 8 pair of leaves, which I think is quite a lot! However, they are mostly green. The bottom ones have some yellow at the ends and a couple have some sun damage. He said it hasn't spiked in a couple of years. Do you think it's possible to get it to top health? :) I would really appreciate any help!

I have a phaleonopsis that has dropped all it's leaves including healthy looking green leaves. It has just dropped it's last yellow one, so it lost 5 leaves in all. The roots still look ok, but what should I do? All my other orchids are fine it is just this one. Help.

not to boast or any thing but your orchids on this vid,.............. it looks like it has spider mites, you might want to use some
kind of spray to kill them like an insecticidal soap, like eco smart, its also non toxic, it even displayed on the bottle safe for kids and pets -
thanks brad

Is it bad that all the old leaves are turning yellow and dropping off. I have one new leaf froming. I got it last Dec. and need to repot, worried something else is wrong and it dying.

Hey Brad should I cut wilted leaves off my orchid? I got my first orchid as a gift about a year ago, I didn't know what I was doing and he had a rough start. Root rot set in and he lost all but one root that was about an inch and a half long, along with its two bottom leaves. Since then I've figured out what to do the plant has two new leaves (they're a little small) and a new root system growing (all roots are under 4 inches) but all the old leaves are still wilted and brown on the edges. Should I cut off the old leaves? I mean wouldn't it just mean that the orchid would send all its energy to the more healthy part of the plant?

I have a leaf that look like this near the top. It doesn't look diseased just yellow... Should I snip it?
