I searched your video because I grew an orange on my home backyard here in central valley california for 4 years now, and the tree never grew. It is the same size I bought from a nursery. This is my second orange tree. The one before had the same problem and the fruits never got ripped. Either the fruits are very sour or the meat inside are dry and no juice so I have to dig the whole tree out and plant a new orange tree and it has the same problem, which never grew any inch for many years. Same thing with my other plans like persimmon and citrus orange. Is that has to do with the soil on my property? Any special technique on how to grow these plants? I notice my neighbor's plants are growing and the branches reach over my fence.

I have a couple orange trees and I live in extreme south Florida and one of my trees makes the best looking largest flavorful fruits while the other produces sour oranges. I've had people tell me some orange trees don't like the 80°F winters here in South Florida.

For those with gas or cable lines buried, can say on average how deep do the roots of a citrus tree go?

I am in Florida, sold my home 4 years ago with a big beautiful orange tree that produced about 12-15 dozen oranges every year. I recently visited my old home and noticed that the tree had no oranges. I spoke to the new owners about it and was told that they didn't maintain the tree. I was wondering what has to be done to bring this tree back. to when it was producing oranges

Do they yield heavy every other year like a peach tree? I know peaches can totally bust up themselves every other year.

im in New Orleans and have a satsuma tree. its only about 8 ft tall, and has produced (guessing) 200+ fruit every year.
they start turning yellow in the fall (sept-oct i think?)
and there is still a LOT of fruit on the tree now, the end of January.
i enjoy fruit for several months. the tree is at least 20 years old, and produces a lot of fruit almost every year.
once in a while it takes a year off, not sure why. -
I have been growing oranges, tangerines, lime, lemons, mangoes, and avocados in my backyard for pretty much my entire life. And I have to say oranges and tangerine are by far the most high maintenance tree I have. They are constantly being bombarded by pest and its difficult to keep the soil exactly how they like it. I live all the way down in south Florida so frost isnt an issue for me but it is a very difficult tree to maintain
