You said you spaced them 6 inches apart but I heard they should be spaced 1-2 feet apart to give the roots more room to grow. I did mine 6 inches too so how did your okra plants do with that spacing? Did you get healthy okras? I hope you notice my comment because I really need your answer. I transplanted mine yesterday afternoon. I have 10 okra plants and I spaced them 6 inches apart. I hope they will do well.

Okra is a very tough plant and doesnot need all the balony crap you put on it

Why both perlite and vermiculite? Was the vermiculite coarse ground or fine ground? Thanks.

Looks good. Nice job

Thanks! Yep, they love the heat. Black pots might work well actually. It took mine a while to produce, but they are kicking in good now.

Thanks Rob! Hope you have a great harvest this year too.

Nice looking plants. The weather as been so cool this year, I don't think it would have liked it too much LOL But I might try someday in black pots so they can warm up :)

Ha! I have the opposite problem...my wife keeps telling me GROW MORE!!

Ha! You know what. My mom doesn't care for it. She was made to eat it as a child (boiled and slimey) so she has an aversion to it now. I told her there are other ways to cook it besides it being all slimey. : > ) More for me!

Raw too! It doesn't taste really different! Give it a try! It's good for you.
