I saved a pod of okra seed for next year's garden. Do I need to chill the seed this winter ort just dry them and keep them till the spring?

I
am attempting to plan okra here in California, I have a second home in California
San Gabriel, I tried numerous times drying Okra seeds from the Okra legume, never worked, it shrinks and the seeds turn into tiny little grain of sand. Is it the climate or do you have especial recommendations? Thank you -
in how many days the okra seed germinate

we're growing okra this year. Started them from seed about a month ago...they are now about 4-5 inches tall and you can see new growth coming from the center. They just aren't getting very tall very quickly... does that sound right? Thanks!

Help needed! My okra plants produce a lot of flowers to admire but no chance of tasting the fruits of my labour. After the flowering stage, the pods was seen but wilted and dropped later. At the most, they stayed there for two days and the stalks broke off from the axil.
What could be the problem?. Plants are growing healthily. No insect problem except some small ants. Temp around 90 deg F. Fertilized moderately. Hand pollination also did not help. Kindly advise. Thanks -
is that a fluorescent light you use to keep your Harvest Vegi's & Fruits, fresh just give me some Idea I live in New York, can I grow mangos Indoor do you know about MANGO!

I suppose you could slice and fry those but, I usually throw the huge ones away.. I pick them at 4 inches.. boil with a few cherry tomatoes salt and pepper just for a few minutes..yum!

OMG! I am in zone 7b and my family have grown okra all my life. I wanted to cry when I saw how big you let the pods get before harvesting. If any got that big it was SOP to chunk it as far as possible before the neighbors saw ;). But really, 3-4 in. for slicing to fry and maybe 2 in. for boiled. Boiled in a heavy broth, okra is divine.

Thanks for your very informative video. I had never grown or cooked okra before and have now saved some seeds to dry. I'll start them mid spring so they will be ready to plant out when the Australian summer arrives. They look like they are prolific growers & gorgeous flowers..thanks again!

I tried to grow okra in house. They germinated and when it was about two to three inches tall, I planted them out in June. Unfortunately in about a month, most of the plants died out. I don't know why. Other plants are doing fine.

cool.
can I grow it in the balcony? and how deep the roots go? -
Please make your life easier by purchasing a 100 ft. hose. It's painful to watch you water your garden. :-)
I was wondering if you had trouble with insects at all or if you did anything to protect them from insects. I read that aphids and other species can be a problem when growing okra.
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I loved how your dog was always there with you. -
Is that fixture(light) home made?

What a fantastic garden you have! I'm in southern Spain and am growing 2 okra plants in large containers on my balcony. They are only little at the moment but I'm really looking forward to them growing as big as yours - and I never knew they had such beautiful flowers!!!

Did the large ones turn out to be tough and stringy when cooked or did you use a longhorn variety that stays tender at larger sizes???
