Nature walk on Vancouver Island
Tips, Tricks
Lush vegetation, many wild plants identified. Disclaimer: Please don't take my word for the identifications made in this video. Make sure for yourself before eating any wild plants or using them medicinally, that you know what you are picking. It was quite a surprise to find all the edible wild berries that day. Further along we found salmon berries and the tiny red huckle berries. I took some of the plantain and mint home for tea. I use plantain as tea sparingly and make a fairly weak tea. Remember that it is a medicinal plant so you may have to consult with a druggist, or your doctor before using it. It was such a beautiful day and as the day went on, we stopped by a creek and did a little gold panning, but never caught that on film because we were being pressed for time at that point.

All I can is y'all are brave :) but I love the walk and when I was young I would have been on that hike too LOL! How neat you know most of those plants. I know my berries & we pick them for jelly. We also have lots of wild grapes where I live now. Grows all up into our trees some times the grapevines will kill the trees. Enjoyed the walk, but kept thinking about bears and cougars. In Texas we'd :) be wearing snake proof boots on that hike too! hugs, Judy
