Tips, Tricks
I've been doing mini braids from back in the day and I always noticed that I managed to retain most of the new growth. You just gained a new subbie!! Great video! I really like your message: simplicity is key! It's so easy to get caught up with all these growth gimmicks and methods on YouTube on blogs that cause you to manipulate frequently - resulting in damage. I just started dialing back at the beginning of this year and started seeing results from leaving my hair alone. I think I am going to try mini braids or twists to see how much length I retain in comparison to when I do box braids or weaves for extended periods of time.

when I cut my hair over a year ago I had to rock a fro I HAD 2 WWWHHUUTTT.... couldn't tell me NUTTIN... then after all the luster and hooplah I started doing mini twists when I realized I could leave them in and style them when it started looking old... I was in HEAVEN... yes leave your hair alone I suffer from hand hair syndrome lol.. thank you for sharing queen

You are so right. I've been doing mini braids with my own hair & it's grown so fast. And it's so easy to style & take care of. It's like a cheat lol.

love this video!!! Yes, the devil is a liar! I just plaited my hair today and hoping it'll stay up for the 4 weeks but it is sooo soft and extremely dry:( any suggestions would be great!

how long did you keep them in for and did you keep up with your wash routine with them in?

Awe!! Nice.. I Also Make Videos! Hope You Consider Subbing?! ;) xoxo

I'm curious about how much time passed between the before and after pic. I will definitely give small braids a try, I am fond on mini/small twists but maybe braids will hold up better with washing. thank you for the video

Yes!! Mini braids have always been my go too protective/low manip hairstyle. as you said u can dc and wash with them in. Sometimes i carry mine to more than a month with redoing the perimeter. It does help with length retention as well. Can wear wigs over it, even do crochet braids on it. Have done this while I was relaxed in the past too.

Your hair looks great, I don't think mine is quite long enough for braids - keep up the great work!

I did mini braids for two years straight and my hair grew like wild. It wasn't until I got hooked on hair tutorials and manipulating my hair that it began to break:( I say...if it ain't broke, don't fix it! I went back to braids....they make life so simple! I can shampoo, condition my hair and moisturize it.....in the braids. This video has motivated me to just continue braiding my hair! Thank you for sharing! The bonus is that braids are making this six month challenge a breeze!
