HOW TO CONTROL MOLES, A DESTRUCTIVE PEST IN YOUR GARDEN OR YARD This video shows how to control them. It is a great tip and its free. While Moles don’t eat your plants, the open air runs they create under the soil top causes your plants to die, why, because the plant roots are in open air. This is my simple little trick and its a great way to keep the garden and yard looking good. In the springtime when the weather warms up, the Moles will start to search through your soil for their food, which is earth worms. The earthworms are beneficial to your soil so you don’t want the Moles eating them. One pair of Moles will have many offspring during the warm summer months; if you don’t control them you will be over run with Moles, their little ones and their runs. I just happen to have a pack on those worms on my garden shed shelf. Put one in an forgot all about them. Even in freezing temps our yard is looking pretty bad from moles tunneling. I'll be out this afternoon to empty the box out on them. Thanks.

I have my own solution... It's called a Herbie! I have a little terrier mix that hunts rats, mice and moles. I find them on the entrance whenever he's found another one!

Yesterday, I went straight to Lowe's and bought a Tomcat box, I followed all your instructions and this morning when I went to verify, all the worms were gone. I highly appreciate your help😁.

I need to try this. Leaf mould in the garden=a lot of beneficial worms=pesky moles.

So $20 for a box of 10 fake worms so $2 to kill a mole, seems pretty cheap compared to all the damage they do! Will have to give this a try!

I found that the caster oil treatment will run them off, but they usually just run to a different part of the yard. DOH!

By golly your method worked great. I followed your directions and the next day the worm was gone and I have not seen the mole. Perhaps having the worm dangling in the middle of the hole helps too. Thanks!

I gave up on using the tomcat worms as my moles keep eating them like snacks and keep on tearing through the yard. The tomcat peanuts don't work either and my moles have recently begun pushing them out of their tunnels and using them to patch the roof instead. Shovels have worked best for me so far if I'm lucky enough to catch them in the act of digging and the victor out of sight traps have caught only 1 of them as they have started digging underneath them.

moles only eat live bait that moves!

I run over the new runs every day with my lawn tractor and then look for activity as they try to re-dig. Then I use a shovel like this guy: (1:40)

I've tried those poison worms....a complete waste of money. They say not to touch the worms as they will smell you on the bait. I used gloves.
