Here's a final example of how useful redstone can be. By request It's the way my redstone water farm works, and how it was built! This design doesn't work anymore because of the change in water mechanics that came with the update.

Took a while; first time chaining redstone torches to channel energy up and down and kept burning the things out... but it is done! I finally have a farm ready for when I start a casual survival map me and my friend can play on. Thanks dude ;) .

I just started playing Minecraft on my tablet and your entire Minecraft Guide helped me out a lot but this tutorial is my favourite video. It took me hours to get this automated farm to work properly (since I'm a newb with a very limited understanding of redstone), but now I have a beautifully running farm thanks to this video. I built mine into the side of a hill though so there was no need for the upside down stair pieces for me. i just dug the water pits into the ground. :) Still works great. Thanks!

This one time i made a similar farm except kinda different. For example mine wasnt as long as the length of this farm becsuse i made it on the side of a hill. Second i used the water channels on the entire perimeter of the farmland. And also i didnt use three pipe shaped structures but just a channel so its like the block of water with the piston but a line of it and i didnt collect with hoppers but used a trench or canal shaped thing where the water flowed into as it pushed the crops. Also with this one as it gets more elevated it has an increasing farmlamd but mine just had one area of farmland and the elevation was more like stairs used to flow the water. But this design was way better because first its longer so u can plant more crops which makes it more efficient and it used the hoppers and the chests which makes collecting it even easier whereas i just used a chest next to the farm and would train myself back to the house with a mine cart lol. Redstone is one of my favorite things about this game because its like u can make your own machines and they can do some pretty amazing stuff so i appreciate u making this farm. I hope to see more cool stuff with redstone in the future :3 this one makes really good use of the flowing water flowing mechanics. This is the kind of stuff i like to see

There's a faster redstone ladder you can build halfslabs. It carries the signal up to 15 blocks high and changes in one tick.

But , you still need to plant the seeds. So why dont right click left click really fast.

this farm is awesome and with this tutorial I manage to build one of my own.. took a lot of time since my farm was on top of a cave apparently and I had to manually build catwalks for the redstone wire to flow trough.

these tutorials are so helpful thanks alot
