Minecraft: Crop Growth Rate (Efficient Farming Tips)
Tips, Tricks
Everyone's farms only grow half as efficient as what they can be! Today we look at the mechanics of the growth rate of crops, what affects it and how to increase the speed of crop growth. I give you guys a little explanation on things and a few nifty tips to make your farming experience produce more crops so you can put those auto farms to the test! You forgot back then to show up a mixed up version of melon/pumpkin, shuffled each crop to increase even more the growth rate for them.

But I like this tutorial. Never knew about that. :)
Going to make an automatic farm more efficient now. -
Wow this is awesome. Thank you. :D

My seeds keep popping off the ground and idk how to fix it

With this guy talking about growth rates and random numbers, i can imagine 12 year olds being so confused and acting like they know what it means.

In a nutshell (for my personal reference)...
Every time wheat is chosen to update, odds of updating are 1/[floor(25/x)+1], where x is the growth rate
Meaning that you want a high growth rate
Determining growth rate:
Unhydrated soil: x=2
Hydrated soil: x=4
For all unhydrated soil around soil block: x+=.25
For all hydrated soil around soil block: x+=.75
If there are any seeds in corners of surrounding blocks, or if there are any seeds east or west of a seed with more seeds to the north or south (idk how else to word that :3): x/=2 -
you gay

i tested it out and it took 3 minutes for wheat to go up one stage and i did everything that is supposed to max its growth rate, but it hardly grew for a full minecraft day.

You referred to both tilled soil and untilled soil as "farmland". Can you clarify on that? Thanks!

arguably the best farming tutorial!

The word you're looking for instead of rounded is "truncated." Rounding decimal numbers in programming languages is costly, and requires extra algorithms to determine an "accurate" rounded number.

Thanks. I didn't realize pistons were transparent, do that's why I said double pistons.
-
Thanks by the way, i had my farms in a u shaped form. I didnt realize it slows it down. i thought i would be able to get an extra food faster like that, but i guess not.
-
The final farm is very useful for severs were a lot of people need food. Can you use double pistons to push down from above on the farm to destroy the crops?
