I miss Monarchs we have them in New Zealand, but not here in Alberta. Large Caterpillers will eat winter squash if they eat all your milk week plant. The milk weed in NZ has a very thin leaf and is also called a SWAN PLANT due to the shape of the seed pods.

Great video, something everyone should see, esp those along the North American migratory route. It takes little to no effort to grow most types of Milkweed once established. Spread the word and spread the Weed!

Monarchs in certain areas will eat Whitevine (Sarcostemma) and Crown Flower (Calotropis). These are close relatives to Milkweed (Asclepiadaceae) -
Yeah, RIGHT ON Joey! Such a beautiful butterfly and the larvae´s beautiful as well,....hmm....this has stirred my curiosity to know more about their sojourn here in mexico, I live about 6 to 7 hours by car from the Monarch Sanctuary and yes, fires and also illegal cutting of the area's trees are threathening their very existence, thumbs up and thanks for sharin'!
