Managing My Perennials - Wisconsin Garden Video Blog 410
Tips, Tricks
Managing my perennials is a year long task that I enjoy. It's time well spent peacefully contemplating life while working in the soil and rearranging plants in a chosen manner. At times it's difficult to tell the plants from the weeds, especially when the sun is beating down my back. That's when it's time to bring out the large umbrella. Today was also a good day to plant some more perennial bulbs in the area I'm managing.

Are those the same yellow flowers from yesterday's video that Rick likes, but you are not so keen on? If they are, funny you are talking about them 2 years later again.

AND THATS WISCONSIN NICE OR AS I LIKE TO SAY SCANSIN.

I see Columbine for sale in the garden centers and it is pricy. I wish I could tell the people buying them that a package of seeds will get you all the Columbine you could ever want with very little effort. The plants produce so much seed, you will have 200 hundred plants next year if you want. I collect the seed and I still get plants growing in different spots in the garden.

Do you leave the gladiola bulbs in the soil over the winter? How deep do the bulbs need to be to survive Wisconsin winters?

Sorry, I don’t remember what kind they are as I planted one package so long ago. I thought they were Shastas, but they are now just seeding themselves everywhere, I don’t have to buy them anymore. I love them because they are so happy looking. Even when they get carried away by growing where I don’t want them, they are easy to move or just pull out. Enjoy, maybe they will come up shorter next year. Lynn

What kind of daisies are those? I thin I have Shasta daisies and they are sooooo tall! I want something more compact. Your gardens are beautiful!

I could let them go but I’m afraid they would work themselves into the house eventually. LOL They really are pretty tho. Lynn
