Long Term Food Storage: Bulk Buying Tips For Frugal Budgets!
Tips, Tricks
Starry made a yearly trip out of the mountains and to the city. The purpose, buying food in bulk! Keeping a well stocked pantry is essential for any homestead that wants to 1) SAVE MONEY 2) Be More self sustainable 3) Have FREEDOM from the store!! A well organized and stocked pantry needs to be filled not just with garden spoils and home canned items, but also staples! Staples include such food items as your grains, oatmeal, wheat, millet, different varieties of rice, beans, sugar, oils, baking powder, corn starch, nuts, peanut butter, spices, pastas, instant potatoes...the list is long! BUT purchases can be made in increments, spreading out the cost thus also allowing you time to properly store and packaged your new bulk items. ALWAYS remember Rome wasn't built in a day. Dont go hog wild and think you need to catch up if you dont have these items in 50 to 100lbs bags already in your pantry. Be aware, make a list, purchase only what you NEED and will eat, be smart...and remind yourself the money up front will PAY you back tons in the end!!! Watch and learn....Starry scratches the surface of some bulk items YOU need to be looking at today!! Dont forget to visit Starry at Mother Earth News! Wish I had a retailer like this one. Those bulk grains are awesome. I can get feed mill grain, but it' not as clean.

Hi Starry! Love your videos! I have a question for grain grinder! I love to bake and never thought of getting the whole red wheat berries for the flour...but now that I'm going to get them I really really need some input on a good grain grinder...hopefully one that wont break the bank!??!! LOL
You mentioned a grinder, but not which one you use. Any ideas or suggestions? I want one that will do the flour for wheat and white bread, corn and then if possible also for oily nuts? So I can make our own peanut butter. We usually get it from the local market (15 miles away) and I agree with you I really dislike going to the store...
I have looked on Amazon and there are so many, but I'm wondering if input from a pro like you wouldn't be more helpful!
I am remote and rural and there are a lot of farming stores around. Would trying one of them be a good idea?
Thanks!!

I just got the best Prepper book in the mail the other day, but I had been reading it for a few days before it got to my house with the E-book. This book has blown my damn mind! I figured as some of my fellow Preppers you guys might love the book as much as I do. http://bit.ly/2fhbdtJ You can find the book there. But this book has everything from making quick bunkers, setting traps, making meat that taste good and won't spoil, ect... This book is Awesome sauce! If you don't want to watch the video just hit the X button and then press stay on the page and you can see what the book is about and how much it is. It's cheaper than most books I own on survival and prepping. I just figured you guys would love this book.
