Lesser Red Mutagen Farming Guide - The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Tips, Tricks
So far the best farming location for red mutagens, it is just south of Crookback Bog and basically it consists of killing Fiends and Arachas. For more information read the guide here: http://www.gosunoob.com/witcher-3/lesser-red-mutagen-farming-location/ Lesser Red Mutagen is an item that can be equipped to increase attack power. However, you can make a stronger mutagen by combining weaker ones. Three lesser mutagens make a regular one, while three regular ones make a greater mutagen. Massive Loop: Same here i followed the video got nothing but blue and no respawn for me either was this patched or maybe just a glitch we ran into?
-
it does work but they don't respawn i can't confirm for the Arachas dropped green but the Fiend can drop red but they don't respawn for me like the video.
-
I can confirm this no longer works on v1.21. Also the fiend and large insectoids I did kill in that area, NONE had any red mutagens at all.
-
SPOILERJust a heads up the Blood and Wine dlc makes it easy to make/find mutagens once you unlock the vineyard.
-
Travel to the Whale Graveyard on the main island of Skellige, after you clear out the bandit camp the enemies will be replaced by drowners which have a better rate of dropping lesser red mutagens!
-
I'm level 18 on the ps4 playing the latest patch and the game has only dropped 3 lesser reds so far. I have tried farming but nothing respawns more then 2 times.
-
save the game and come back then it shud respawn after every hour of meditation.
-
Only green mutagens. patched
-
Blue mutagens are super easy to find, green ones are fairly easy, and red are fucking rare to find. I've played the whole game and I've only been able to make 2 greater red mutagens...
-
Im on PC version 1.10
The Fiend and the bigger mob did indeed drop lesser red ones. Tho they dont respawn. even if i wait a day -
I'm only level 5. What would i do to get red mutagens?
-
This isn't working anymore on v1.07 for the PS4, at least. I've respawned 10 times and the insects and Fiend only drop lesser green and blue mutagens.
-
+GosuNoob which set of Character points gives u this awesome DPS ?
-
What silver sword are you using?
-
You can farm them in Velen too. SE of Benek below the cave that you have to go into for a quest there are lvl 18 drowners along the coast in two places that drop them. In Skellige south of Redgill on the eastern coast there are a bunch of lvl 18 drowners that respawn after 3 hrs of rest.

I have a feeling this guide is a lie! the fiend keeps respawning and I keep killing him and not one time where I have got a lessor red mutagen, only green fucking mutagens. What the fuck! My sliver sword and my armor have depreciated for nothing!!
-
I hope this helps. I waited 2 hours and no respawn. Then 3 hours exactly, (nothing more nothing less) and they crop up like weeds. As for the drops, just keep at it. If you played mobster hunter-its like that. For every 10 I killed, a red mutagen popped up. Good luck (I have a ps4 with game ver
1.04 if that matters -
There are some of those silly arachnids much further north near one of the towns.Blackstock or whatever it is called in the forest near a hut where there are a couple of dead people.
So I'll check that out first and see if they will drop any reds. -
Yeah I've tried that already. All I'm getting are the greens.
