Layout Your Homestead: Get More Use From Small Space
Tips, Tricks
Becky shows you how she laid out her homestead. She talks about the design she used to choose where to put everything. You can get lots of use out of a small homestead if you use Becky’s method for designing it. There are 3 zones you can use when you’re deciding were to put everything. Zone 1 is where you put the thing that need daily care and that you need to keep an eye on. Like the garden and your chickens. Zone 2 is for bigger things like horses or cows. Zone 3 is for things that don’t need lots of care like a hay field or an orchard. Also remember when you’re thinking about buying a piece of land it’s very important that you get one that’s zoned agricultural or residential/agricultural. Becky's Amazon Link: http://goo.gl/Y9Vgmj

I love, love these videos.
So inspiring and Becky makes some money to live the simple life -
I think up north you need to have at least 4 acres of wood land to have a homestead because you need wood to burn for the winter.
-
are you in a hot or cold climate for the winter?

LOVE YOU BECKY!!!!

I like your homestead Becky. Its really nice. Where is it located, in florida? I live in Miami now, and I want to get my own little homestead for my wife, and me. Luckily, I already have some money saved up, and a steady income without having to work if I dont want to. What area would you reccomend starting a homestead in? I want to stay in Florida cause its nice, and warm here most of the year, and its good for growing crops all year round too. Thanks in advance. P.S. nice videos.

Very nicely organized basically using comon sense. Clearly you put a lot of pre-planning into it. Good video.

You have a beautiful place!

Do you have any advice for clearing wooded areas? We have 8 acres but 7 of them are wooded with pine trees. We would love to have a couple of cows and/or some goats. Right now we do not have a tractor. We're just getting started on the homestead planning.

My ideal currently is at most four acres. How much land do you have? It looks like you've put a lot onto not very much and I'm impressed, I thought it would be harder.

you should get like 6 more guinea fowl once you have your garden because guineas like to be in groups with other guineas
-
well planned layout

can you do video on the steps you took to identify land you want to purchase for your homestead
-
Laying out your land should be done with permaculture principals in mind. Little bit of work but it will pay off in the long run. lot of videos on this topic.

There seems to be a lot of shade in your new garden spot where the shed used to be. Does it get enough light? I love your videos. I wish I had your little homestead.
