Do you know much about using honey with striking cuttings?
-
Do you cut the top off and some of the bottom? so there are cuts at both ends? Did you say you are using stems that have flowered?
-
Thank you for taking the time to video how to do this with us rookies ,lol. You made me laugh when you said A REAL man will carry a basket when doing this, lol, hilarious.

I just came across this video and it's great. Thanks for posting. I have some lavender bushes that have been growing for about 13 years that I want to propagate. I can't even remember what type they are (might be the Grosso). Do you have to wait until the plant flowers before taking cuttings or can it be done prior to flowering? I would like to get some cuttings going as soon as possible but the plants are nowhere near ready to flower.

Thanks bill

I know enough about the plant itself d/t Mom, but sadly had noooo bleepin' clue just how to do it Correctly. In walks your Very informative video.. SCORE! I'm off now to snip 3 small iddy-biddy bits from the neighbor now so I can prepare a Mom's Day gift, courtesy of you! :) :) :)

The main difference would be that the asexual propagation would give you an exact clone of the mother. The bad news is that Loquat is generally not considered a good plant to grow from cuttings. Some plants take to this and others do not. The usual method is grafting the mother scions to seedling root stocks or doing an air layer for small scale reproduction. Once you get those seedlings rooted it's time to practice grafting!
