are the stones placed directly on top of the dirt or was a base placed underneath ?

Why did you guys violate so many basic rules of landscaping? For example, tall shrub directly in front of the window, MULCH ON TOP OF LANDSCAPE FABRIC (that's just going to create a mess, as decomposed mulch turns into SOIL), and unless those are all dwarf shrubs, they are going to severely outgrow their space in a couple of years. I think you guys could use some basic landscape training.

would this really work over time? thats a lot of jungle in such a small space so close to the foundation i wouldnt risk it. plus all those rocks, plants, barrier,just the total cost outrageous alone.

you dont need landscape fabric. puting a thic layer will keep weeds out. you also are keeping the nutrients from the mulch from penetrating into your soil and plants.last but not least soil needs air.

Too many pieces of shrubbery that will too soon outgrow the size of space, Tree and shrubs that will grow too tall, and didn't amend the soil, and just left the poor soil and rocks. Not good at all!

Looks nice but I'd rather just stick to cutting grass, trimming hedges and removing unwanted trees. Flower beds are cool but I feel like it is going to be cutting into my normal routine and I'm going to make less money. I thrive on having a lot of lawns to mow and trees to cut.

Very nice. I think this design would be very appropriate for my small front yard.
