I bought this variety, and I have more seeds than I will ever eat radishes (yes I know they won't all germinate and I'll have to thin), so could I use it as a cover crop? I live in zone 5b. I don't wanna buy oilseed radish seeds. Should I use this, or a large daikon? I don't understand the difference.

Nice how to produce/grow Diakon. Propagation would be when you collect the seeds to reproduce it. Have you had good luck with seed collection? We haven't experimented with other radishes yet. Also, we live in a colder climate than yours, so we have the luxury of the beautiful and nutritious fall leaves to add to our garden soil. Thanks for giving me the idea of looking for the seeds. I haven't done that yet. We've collected tomato, cucumber, pepper, and some Chinese greens seeds to plant each year.

19000th view! Have you tried growing korean radishes? I grew them and had lush leaf growth but no root. These radishes are usually 1to2 pounds each, but mine had a root that looked like a skinny finger. I left them to flower. Grew about 2 1/2feet high. Rich, well drained soil with compost and manure. How can i get a larger root. Looking on youtube i found info about them, but i do not speak Korean. Pardon, I mean Hangul. Do any of you have advice, maybe?

Do you know if it is possible to grow Diakon or Minowase from the top by rooting it as you can with turnips, beets and other root vegies? When I buy Diakon in the market (in Phoenix) the tops are gone so I will have to start with seed. Thanks! Lovely video!
