I've been slowly learning how NOT to kill my plants the past 2 yrs. !! In the past I've killed them regularly. I found that I don't kill jades, and have even taken my first jade plant and pruned it. I successfully got 7 plants out of the original one. But now I've made a mistake in cutting the original trunk with a razor blade because it was 8 inches high with new growth only at the top. Have I killed any hopes of it starting new chutes again? I am trying to become a little bit better at caring for my plants!! I couldn't find anything on here that addresses the trunk. Any advice for me????

They will even get roots if you put them in a vase and change the water every two days for about a month. Tough things.

It depends on how long is your cutting. Half way deep should suffice.
