Any suggestions on blackening from the top of the stem downward? It's about 3 years old and is only 13" But I did move in the first year. December, I thought I had root rot, cut all the brittle, dark roots, and then moved it into new soil, with more nutrients and also some Hydrozyme and another root growth booster, to help the surviving roots.
It went into shock, I cut all its leaves, bagged the top because it was blackish and I cut that part off. Thankfully it survived, it's now March and has new sprouts at the bottom. However the stem just turned black a bit on top again, I'm afraid it's because I watered it a bit too much. Any experience with this? I would cut the black top off again, but I'm fearful it'll spread still.... -
Your plant looks like it is stretching for light. I have one that is 4 months old and has almost 30 "true" leaves. They are able to hold themselves up horizontal and are a dark green. The internodal distance is about 1/2".
I would recommend providing your plant with additional sunlight to really get it going.
Just my opinion though. :)
