In The Garden - How To Divide Hostas
Tips, Tricks
Welcome to my first gardening video. I'm going to show you how I divide a hosta. Hostas are gorgeous, hardy, staple perennials in our gardens here in Nova Scotia. They get very enormous and can handle being divided without damage (only aesthetics) if done at the right time of year. I'm serious; in my experience you just can't kill them. I hope you find this "quick and dirty" video helpful. Get out there, don't be afraid, and divide your hostas. Spread the love by planting the divides in your own gardens or share them with others. I do use this technique to divide just about everything in my garden. Thanks for posting. A lot easier than some of the other dividing videos. Going to do this next spring for sure.

Hi. How did the division and transplanting hold? Also you mention you can put them in a container, I imagine we're talking large container then? Thanks.

Two things I will never do - hit a woman or split a hosta

Thank you! I think something like dividing anything in the garden can be daunting to a new gardener and this is so easy and fun to share with those that are in need of some plants. Nice to save yourself and friends some moolah.
