One thing that lot of people forget about is here in the Northwest we've got a lot of clay soil. Every great garden needs great soil, and if your soil is heavy with clay, don't worry. We have some tips on how you can start fresh this season in the garden.

My garden is predominantly clay soil so am taking your advice and incorporating some 'home made' soil conditioning compost into it. I have chopped up a mix of leaves, grass and seaweed. I have used some as a top dressing, some I will use in pots and growing bags.
