How to ID the common magic mushroom ,Psilocybe cubensis or "gold top" in Australia. Times of the season change with location, best times to ID this this mushroom in northern NSW and southern Queensland is nov,dec,jan,feb,march. Warning: Collecting this mushroom for the purpose of ingesting is illegal in australia and carry's heavy jail terms. I recommend you watch this in high quality.

I live in the west and they are found around small creeks that are flowing, i had a tow truck and was asked by the police to follow them to this location, many people got their vehicles bogged trying to drive across this creek.
Here they are not found in cow poo they are found growing in rotting leaf mould and old rotting trees.
There is plenty of food around, i would never eat this type of stuff. -
They look different too Melbourne ones are ones are a lot more dark

The fact that magic mushrooms grow in cow poop makes you wonder if that is why certain cultures view cows as sacred cause they hold part of the keys to open the gates to new dimensions

Why does it look like people have picked them and then left them on the ground? If people had been picking before you, wouldn't they have taken them and eaten them? :S Thx please reply.

They can grow any where that the soil is good or theyre is decomposition like mulch dont eat them just by looking at them because you will most likely die go home and do a spore print and look for a deep purple
