will it hurt the plants if I pour water in the holes before placing them in and covering
and then water them ? -
Question for you, do you have well water or are you using city water ? For larger gardens using city water daily would create quite a monthly water bill. Just curious. Really enjoy your videos by the way. I've been growing organically since 1967 when a retired Marine taught me everything he knew over 2 summers as it related to the growing of fruits and vegetables.

This is a cool video I like how you "stole" the peppers. What is the tree in the background? Looks like an orange or pear?

Hey brother, just wanted to say thanks for this great video. I'm gardening for the very first time this year and have been having awful trouble with my seedlings and potted plants just dying on me. Having someone who grows locally is very helpful and you're commenting on things I hadn't really considered. I don't have rabbit pellets unfortunately, and am having to stick with planters in my backyard because we rent, but I'm still getting things out of these videos that are useful. I do martial arts too at the Hioki Dojo. Lemme know if you're in the north valley sometime, I'll take you out for drinks.

I live in California, near the coast, so it is cooler here, but: I find that you can direct plant seeds into the ground. By direct planting, you not only avoid the chance of shock, but you will also get more plants for the money. I purchased a package of pepper seeds for about $2. That produced about ten plants. Great job on separating the plants.

How did they turn out? I just planted some today... The tags say 18-24 in. apart but I did about a foot apart. Hoping they turn out ok!

I have been able to just cut through the plastic to get into the greenhouse at a semi local nursery and get some plants but the stuff I really want is in a greenhouse with glass panels. What would you suggest I use to get into that greenhouse. I am doing it at night with a helper to carry off the plants after I push them out of the hole in the plastic. I don't want to alert the Nursery of my activity. I think you may have more experience at this kind of "shopping' than I do and I need some advice.

a thumbs up just for the pepper rhyme!

the one disadvantage is wood chips is a great place for Scorpions to hide, check your beds at night with a black light. Don't forget to add some Epsom salts to your dirt.
-
I would suggest putting up a small tarp for 2-3 days to shade them from direct sunlight, since you disturbed the roots.

Where's the update????????

That is cool, when I would go the nursery they will sell pepper plants 4 for a dollar so I would end up with a lot of peppers to harvest. I would give some away at work and to my neighbor.
