would it be a good idea to get a water meeter to make sure u dont over water a peace lily ?cuz mine has brown spots not on the edges but more in ward

My problem is that my leaves are all drying up and there are only have 7 stems and leaves left. I do I encourage new growth?

Thank you! I saw on another video on youtube that brown leaves means overwatering. However, I have ALWAYS heard that brown leaves means not enough water. Regardless, my peace lily plant has brown leaves (someone gave me the plant) and now I know how to trim them properly. Thanks.
