Is a hedge trimmer a good tool for blackberry bushes?? Some of the branches are an inch thick & more and very tough - a string trimmer won't cut them. A circular blade doesn't work well because the branches are flexible and the blade tends to push them away.

What the guy is trying to say,cut back hard. Trust him, those hedges will come back fast and look great. you have to cut hard to get it back to. The way you want it. Trust him, in two weeks,it'll look good.

Hi,can you tell me what hedge trimmer are you using please, as I want one that cuts my bushes as easy as your's did. Most only deal with leaves not the small 1.5" branches that get out of hand.
If at all possible can you please tell me the make, wattage, the blade cut (i.e.34mm) etc. Thanks -
murderer!

this guy is crazy

Bad example. I would have come in a little easier from the bottom straight up and start with a box cut. Then you can make adjustments on how far to go in and round it out if you wanted.
