I live in East Texas and just found your channel. Id like to stop by and see about getting some blackberry plants as apart of my garden if you got any. Not sure how to send you a private message on here though.

You sir, are definitely a Texan. Only a pure bred Texan would take 5 minutes to talk about curlin' leaves on the blackberry plants and a drip irrigation system.
How do I know this? Because I would have taken 5 minutes to tell the same. ha! You gotta throw in a "Well my daddy used to say...." at least once.
Carry on Brother... I do believe the Summer has broke, and we're in for a LITTLE cooler temps, so your berries and such outghta be enjoying it. -
hurry up and come back I miss your videos I am anxious to see what you've been up to

Do you water your blackberries year round if not when do you stop in the fall?
-
i like the watering system that you have installed. another great video from tp2 keep it up brother. copied your trellis system with my own blackberry patch and they were doing great till i had a brutal outbreak of orange rust that forced my to dig up half my patch. i believe it was because i mulched right up to the canes and it held too much moisture. not too sure but, the more i fail the more i learn.

nice little update. good to see that the pyralids aren't causing any epinasty. good on ya for not tellin certain folks someplace special to go. how much you have to put on to get properly watered will depend entirely on your own set of factors like soil, mulch, sun, and wind. note that Blackberries don't like constant wet feet or the roots will rot. Super technical people needing a break from politics before the next civil war ought to refer to the following. might add it to your list TP... http://host31.spidergraphics.com/nra/doc/Fair%20Use%20Web%20PDFs/NRAES-35_Web.pdf

watching your videos on the blackberry plants, i have noticed the dead grass around them and was wondering what you use to kill it that does not hurt your berry plants. -
How do you know how much you need to water?
-
Can you be a little LESS scientific? Holy crap, if your THEORY was correct, the first berries you were watering would have become "Uncurled". But, obviously that did not happen or you would have video'd it.
Then, you go onto say that all the other plants were getting a good amount of water, but they too were curled.
Duh, sounds like you have no idea why the leaves actually curl. -
Something to keep in mind is plants do not always wilt because they need water. They mostly wilt, because it is their natural response to too much sun and heat. They are shading their leaves from the sun. You can test this by not watering them and check them in the morning, as the sun rises. If they are in need of water, they will still be wilted, otherwise they should look fine and healthy. Most folks will over water their plants thinking they are parched, when in reality they are perfectly fine. I would imagine under all the mulch that the ground is also moist.

thanks, please do more like this for us beginners.

I do believe that your wood chips rows are too narrow allowing your grass and root systems under your chips to rob moisture from your blackberries. Cardboard over the grass and more woodchips... Less watering needed. Enjoy your video's.
