I would also consider dipping the stems in water that has had willow twigs soaking in it, and then I would dip them in honey. Both act similar to rooting hormones, as they are anti-bacterial.

Cocoa shells mixed with peanut shells and ground up are acidic and nitrogen based! Placed in soil close to plants not directly on roots it will burn them and kill them let the plant roots grow to the food and then they will take off! Cocoa shells are a land scape material sold in box stores

I know that blueberries need an acid soil, so would it help to adjust the pH of the soil before trying to root the cuttings?
