HOW TO SOW YELLOW SQUASH SEEDS FOR GERMINATING! I use empty yogurt tubs. I made few holes at the bottom. Then I put my potting soil half the tub put my seeds about 4-5 in a tub, and cover it with soil. Water it everyday to keep it moist and cover it if it is still cold outside. With in 10 days it will germinate. When the plants are 2-3 inches tall replant them in your garden. You can put 2 plants together in a space when you replant them in your garden it is o.k. I use this method and grew lots of squash last year. I did not count or measure. Be sure to put a net for your plants or squirrels will eat as soon as a flower comes out and you see a little bud for squash. Only fertilizer I used was grass clippings and clean, dry, crushed egg shells to chase away the slugs and bugs. Water twice a day. Make sure your plants get 8 hours of full sunlight. Do not ever water after 6:00 P.M. As they tend to create fungus. Luckily I never had any bug problems. For any kinds of bugs I have noticed Tea tree oil a drop or two in a spray bottle with one glass water sprayed all over the plants works great even though I never had to use it. I use it for cleaning my basement and I found all the spiders and bugs gone for good.
