Do you have to blend it every time

What are the worms suppose to do

Hey Luke. Another great video. But of course, more questions. How often do you water it and feed it? Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks and blessings to you and your family!

Would be great if you did an updated video on how to make a worm bin with all the knowledge you have now. Just to see how you would start a bin now with a bit more on maintenance as well. On the drainage, did you have any escapees from the 1/2 inch drain hole (I am imagining you had this bucket over something to collect the worm pee)? Thanks!

my concern is that our garages get over 100 in Summer as well.

I live in hot Arizona and I would love to do worm but what would I do to keep them cool in Summer????

What do you put underneath to catch the smaller worm castings and water?

Plastic leaches a lot of bad stuff out of it..ever thought about your compost being tainted by using a plastic tub?

Can't use worms from backyard. Nightcrswlers like to dig 3 feet. Compost should be less then 18 in

Great video! I've never had a worm bin and I'm new to TN and gardening here and want to amend the soil. I have several 5-gal. buckets and would like to know how to use them. Didn't see a video listed on it. Thanks so much for the info!

In the long run though it's great to have a multi-tray continuous system, with legs and a tap and so on. I have 3 trays in a "Can o Worms" which was under $100 (I think from memory was about $60 AUD plus an extra tray for $20) and by the time the top one is full, the bottom one can be harvested directly, there are maybe a dozen worms still lurking in it. It's easy to get at too, just lift the top few trays off together and take a trowel full for seedlings or the whole tray if you're preparing a bed.

Did you drill the same amount of holes in the bottom as the top?

1000 worms in such a small bin can end up killing off your worms due to overcrowding. Remember they will breed and produce more worms, it's all they can do in a tote other than eat and make castings. With 1000 worms, I would divide them up into fourths and make 4 bins instead of putting that many in 1 bin; unless you get a much bigger bin; I think that you'll find that all 4 bins will produce "black gold" giving you 4 times the production of castings; they'll be healthier, breed better and faster.

Thank god for videos like this. $110 for a worm factory 360...no thank you

Hay Luke, I just ordered some worms, so I'm trying to prepare for them. My question is, where exactly did you put the 7 drainage holes? You didn't show them. I want to be sure I get it rt. Thanks
-
Maybe I missed it, but what size holes do you put on the bottom and where do you put those holes on the bottom? Also, how full do you make your tote? It sort of looks like about half full or a little less. I am totally new to all of this.

Great video, wondering if you need this and separate compost as well. Or if this would work alone.
Thanks. -
The castings are amazing on all plants but you can also use the worm tea that fills up in the worm composting bin..i get tons of it from my worms in my worm bucket tower...try it out good stuff
