Kiwi is just a wonderful fruit to have fresh, imagine it vine ripe; tender, juicy and as sweet as you can imagine. You can grow Kiwi just about anywhere in California. A couple of tips: Kiwi, as we see here, grows on a vine. It's a vigorous vine, it'll take over a trellis or a front yard! One key is you need a male and a female to make it happen. So you look on the tag and in this case it says Female, and it's a Vincent Hybrid, not a bad idea. Going with a hybrid means the best science available. So we need to find a male and in the case here, here we've got a male. This puppy here is going to produce the pollen necessary for the female. You put the two together and it'll go crazy. Kiwis will produce around 10 to 12 years then it's time to replace them, but prolific and consistent and welled here along the central coast and throughout California. Remember - feeding on a regular basis and adding fresh compost. You add fresh compost every season, it's feeding your soil and the soil feeds the plant. Thanks for tuning in!
