How to Prune Fruit Trees The Right Way Every Time
Tips, Tricks
pruning fruit trees will help in many ways. It will help with fruit yields, reduce transplant shock, increase air flow, disease reduction, and keeping the overall size to something managable. We will talk about the 3 D's of pruning, as well as the CAC rule. if you know about those two rules, you will be able to prune any tree!

It's dead, damaged and deseased.... It works for branches during dormant season, not for green growths....!!!!

When growing citrus from seed, when would you say I should first begin to prune? I'm growing a hydroponic "lemon" tree. It's about a foot tall and around 6mos. old. Thanks in advance, Luke!

I have 6 dwarf red apple trees (delicious). They used to bear some fruit when I would prune them in the Fall. A guy told me that was wrong, and they needed to be pruned in Feb-Mar. He was supposedly a professional. I let him prune my trees for 5 yeas, and kept getting less and less fruit. I finally fired him and brought in a guy from a local apple orchard, who said I needed at least one yellow delicious or a flowering crab to pollinate my red apple trees. So, a couple weeks ago, I cut down the West most apple tree and had a yellow delicious planted there. I asked the nursery men if I should prune it and they said not until next year. I try to keep the trees at 6 feet high after pruning, so that I can reach any apples. This year, on 5 apple trees, I had 5 apples! Birds came and took a bite out of each one, and then yellow jackets came in and ruined the apples the rest of the way. Sometimes I wonder why I ever planted them. Well, hopefully, now that I have a yellow variety back there I might get better pollination. I'm going to go back to pruning in the Fall and try to open things up in the middle as well as cut back most of the vertical growth which occurred this year. Thanks for your video.

I truly needed this info badly. I have a new Apple tree that looks like yours, but didn't pruned it after planting it, and my peach tree that we can never seem to get rt just because we don't know how, we were afraid of killing it. Thanks again Luke

Great info. I recently discovered your channel and subbed. I transplanted about 20 fruit trees two months ago in the early part of May. Is it too late to prune them or do I need to wait for a dormant season? I'm not sure how long transplant shock lasts. Thank you in advance.
