Yuccas

Thanks for the info. Today some gardeners were throwing away huge clumps of an old yucca that might be gloriosa. I am not sure exactly but some of them have trunks about 3 feet long curving around. Do I need to cut the trunk down and root them first before I put them in the ground or can I plant one with a fat trunk unrooted or rooted? Thanks and nice yucca garden.

Joe my neighbor just gave me several yuccas from his garden and we basically dug them up and replanted them. Now of course parts of the roots needed to be severed but all the plants had retain feeding roots. I did plant them in areas of full sun but one in particular is not looking super good ( droopy from I'm guessing transplant shock ). We live in Chicago and I'm just wondering what to do in order to ensure its success ?! Let me know my manThanks
