Why would you want to get rid of your clover? Clover adds nitrogen and also the little flowers attract bees. This is TRUE growing wisdom.

Interesting. We uploaded a video showing how to remove bindweed. Preventions like you suggest are all good. Removing weeds before they go to seed is critical to keep weeds from spreading. Oxalis is almost impossible to get rid of because its roots are deep and it forms nodules on the roots that will resprout a new plant when you cut the top portion. Even Roundup is only effective against oxalis if applied repeatedly over time.

Can you please tell us the safety way to eliminate Poison Ivy ? I understand that this plants cause a severe skin irritation. Than you

Great video, good advice!

The weed Dave called "clover" is actaully Oxalis stricta or common referred to as Yellow Woodsorrel. While its leaves are very clover-like its actually not related to clover at all. There are many Oxalis species that are sold as ornamentals, but Oxalis stricta is by far the most agressive and weedy of the lot.

Very informative video. I like to keep the space filled so there is no access for weeds to germinate. As weeds are the first set of pioneers to start off the forest they just love bear ground. In Australia we see them spraying weeds, which then creates more bear earth for weeds to grow, it's just nuts. They just create an endless cycle of spray and return to spray again.

what do you mean antidote to poison ivy? How do you use it???

amazing that this guy has to explain that plants come from seeds. And he really DOES because people are that far removed from any kind of life interaction with nature.
-
I'm surprised you don't use gloves while weeding. There are many varieties of weeds which might cause an inflammation on the skin.

Thanks !

Hey isabstmr... There are many natural alternatives to the chemical weed killers... They're not quite as effective but with multiple applications do a similar job... We recently tested a few here in this clip youtube.com/watch?v=kGRCaAZ835A&feature=share&list=UUtmtCfbWBxXcfPXvja-d4lw .... You may find it helpful... Chris

How do you stop grass from growing? I hate to spray poison.
-
I have this really nasty grass the locals call "wire grass" that spreads aggressively through and over the ground with its root system. It found its way into my 12" raised bed garden from underneath and no matter how many times I rip up the roots, it gets back in. Any suggestions? One neighbor just keeps tilling the soil border to his garden to prevent any roots from growing through, but I don't have the equipment for that.
