Have you tried a seedling heat mat? sorry that they are trouble over there. I put them in at 12 inch spacing and forget them until harvest. Just water and feed with rest of garden. 4 is enough for our family. I grow a variety called millsap white. They get to 4 ft x 4 ft. Pods are yummy to 9 inches. However I cannot grow true spinach to save my life most years. Now grow perpetual spinach, a very thin stemmed chard in stead. It is a shame, as I love spinach salads.

18 plants will produce enough for you and all of your relatives! I love fried okra and we put it into soups. Take care my friend.

Looking good, hope you get some okra for a gumbo ;-)

12" tall Okra plants? I can't imagine. Hope to see them later in the season.

Well Claire your Okra are beating mine hands down! My best seedlings planted and growing in sunny porch are like your cast offs! Same with my aubergines this year, so slow growing... Never ceases to amaze me that some plants will be brilliants one time and next time will not play ball even thought the care is the same...the only thing i cant control is the lightlevels. I will persevere though.
