Show you how to plant in your flower bed. White Feather Hostas can be successfully planted any time that the ground can be worked. The best times to plant hostas are when they are actively making new roots, in the spring after the first flush of leaves has hardened off and in late summer once the hottest weather is past. Here in Ohio that is usually early May and late August. Most plants that we ship to retail customers are sent during those optimum times. Planting at these times allows the plants enough time to establish a good root system before the droughts of summer in the first case and before they go dormant for the winter in the latter. I live in Wisconsin and want to try to grow my white feather hosta in pots and over winter it in the pot in the ground. Can you give me any suggestions on what type of pot to use how deep to bury it drainage things like that for our Wisconsin winters? I'm in zone 5 A - is lol. Preferably I would love to just find a spot in my garden that it would performed better. It emerges pure white and is beautiful but gets a little soggy or soft in a few weeks and seems to barely survive so this year I pulled it out and put it in a pot. It got very green and streaky which I expected but is doing quite well now. I have a lot of hostas I have shade, I have Sun, I have a shady area under trees, I can plant them under a larger hasta if that's best... can you tell me where the best placement would be in regards to being planted near other plants or hostas?
