How To Plant Green Beans In Containers - For Bush or Pole String Beans In this video I will show you how I plant my bean plants into containers or pots. The bean varieties I'm planting are Royal Burgundy Beans and Gold Rush Beans - both bush beans. I started them from seeds on April 27th, 2016 and I'm planting them into containers on May 27th, 2016. I used Kellog Patio Plus Organic Potting Mix and I added to the soil 1/2 cup of rock dust and 1/2 cup of Dr. Earth Organic Fertilizer. I planted 3 plants per container giving each bean plant plenty of room to grow. These are bush varieties, so I will not need pols or trellises for them to climb up. I water my bean plants every night after it cools down as here in Arizona is already in the 90s. The second evening, I watered them with 1 tbsp of Liquid Organic Alaska Fish Fertilizer deluded in 1 gallon of water and I will do this every 2 weeks. Today (May 30th) the beans are looking really good despite of the hot weather. They are on a South facing patio and are getting about 8-9 hours of sun light. As it gets hotter, I will pull the containers underneath the patio around 1 pm.
