Solid information! Will be planting a dozen or so additional apple trees this spring and pruning/training the established trees.

Bare root trees are cheaper and grow a lot faster than the potted root bound trees... I protected mine by putting 3 metal fence posts around them... The bucks aren't able to use them as scrapes because they hit the metal fence posts instead of the tree...

Are those Norway Spruce trees? I also would suggest finding out what the bloom time is on whatever fruit you are growing. I have planted several trees that actually grow well but have a hard time producing fruit because they bloom too early and all the flowers die. That is a horrible feeling when you put in a lot time and money then realize you have purchased early bloomers in an area that has late frost! Nice video!

With those cedars so close to your orchard, what steps do you take to prevent/deter cedar rust on your apple trees?
