How To Plant Daffodil Bulbs The Easy Way (And Why You Should!)
Tips, Tricks
A metal spike is the only tool you need to plant daffodil, tulip and crocus bulbs. We plant a sackful every autumn and it’s a quick and fun job. Just make a hole, pop in the bulb and cover it with soil. That’s it. No need for anything else. Then you can forget about them till the following spring when they will reward your efforts big time. And every year they’re in the ground, the more flowers you’ll get. We plant a few different varieties – not just because they look different, but because they bloom at different times. We now are able to gather fresh bunches of daffodils every day for 6 weeks or so. And they only smell gorgeous! Plant your bulbs between September and November. At least 4” and preferably 6” deep. Put the hairy side down – that’s where the roots grow from. Good luck! (Our spike was once mounted on a tractor for lifting silage-bales. We found it by the side of the road.) i just ordered a ton of daffodil bulbs they are the best, even here in the desert where i live they do great, but i can't plant them in the ground they go in pots but still lovely to see them come up in the spring. I notice tulips unlike other bulbs only bloom once or twice which is why i never buy many of those.

Hi. I probably stupidly bought some dwarf daffodil bulbs and im now figuring that it isnt the time of year to plant. Should i plant them anyway and give them a chance rather than waste? Any advice appreciated!:)
Im in N Ireland btw -
I live in Chicago but I'm part Irish descent and I alway buy the daffodils from Ireland in the spring. I knew a couple who split their daffodils every fall - from an original group of 14 bulbs - and wound up with a forest field of such incredible beauty. Your life and work and especially these videos are poetry and art. Thank you for your work and sharing your life.

I love your method of planting these. LOL I love when flowers start blooming in the Spring. We still have a couple weeks to go here before we see the first sight of daffodils and I can't wait! I was happy to hear the frogs return a few nights ago! Warmer weather will be here eventually and then I can plant my garden (probably mid-late May).
You two seem to have a lot of fun! I love watching your channel; it's always entertaining and fun! You keep it real. :) -
