through reading the comments I saw you ripped this out? was it growing out of control? I live in Connecticut and they have a law about not planting this within 40 feet of property lines. I feel like with a proper barrier around the full area I would be OK as long as I monitored any roots growing over my plastic edge.. but I just started research on this today. what was your experience? thanks for your help

Thanks, great job on the bamboo how-to. I'm guessing by now, that house is almost hidden. It's inspiring watching the row of large rocks lined up with a perfect trench.

why not run the barrier on both sides completely containing the bamboo?
-
very nicely explained and to the point. Keep up the good work !!

is your neighbour hungarian by any chance? :D

I'm just wondering how the containment and growth turned out. I lost some trees in a tornado a couple of years ago that left my yard incredibly 'unprivate.' I think a bamboo fence would be perfect, but I sure don't want it to overtake my yard. I'd love to hear how it worked out!

Your lawn looks lush! My Lady Garden is all overgrown and full of mice and earwigs!
-
lol "and you can see why i'm installing this hedge." Yes, totally understandable.

Love the project. Love the house! Your family is adorable :) Thanks for the info about bamboo!

That's too bad. It would be nice to see some long term follow-ups with the running bamboo. I need to plant 250ft of privacy landscaping in my backyard as well but not sure how well I can contain it. I live in North Dallas. Feel free to offer any advice.

Thank you so much for posting this. Very informative. You planted the bamboo almost 2 years ago. Can you post a video update? Curious about controlling spread and density of foliage for privacy. How often do you maintain the bamboo, etc.?

Thank you for the video. You're little girl is adorable helping you along. :-)

Plant bamboo and give yourself extra work each day DUMB VERY DUMB why not shoot yourself in the foot

Well done... This looks like a lot of work but well worth the effort to have well contained Bamboo. I wonder if making a raised bed 24"-30" tall would have the same effect.

Rocks, stripped shirt and hat....looks like you're on a chain gang.
Bamboo own you now, you are now that bamboo's bit$ch. Bamboo own you. -
"I want to help, lets do one more" adorable :)

Where is the follow up video? A few years later it would be nice to see the results.

Great video! Thanks for posting! One question (which you may or may not have already answered), is this the "clumping" type of Bamboo and if not why did you opt for the running kind? Isn't the clumping kind far less risky than the running kind? I'd like to plant some Bamboo of my own for privacy purposes. Any advice or feedback is greatly appreciated, thank you!!

Wow what a great job...looked like a lot of work. Perhaps I don't want Bamboo after all.
