I grow kale and beans quite well. Do you think Vancouver BC Canada weather is good enough? Love your videos. Thanks Vic

Hi Allen, I live in AR also, where do you get your asparagus crowns from? Thanks!
-
Using bone could be dangerous? How do you know what the animal ate? Now it's in your soil---your veggies & you!

I put my crowns(1year old) down last Oct. and hoping to see some great results this year.
-
Thanks gave you a thumbs up please return the favor

I noticed that you went ahead and covered the whole crown. Most of the instructions say to just put a little soil on for a week and then a little more each week until it is all covered. What is your thinking on this?

The soil ridge is made up of about 50% natural soil and 50% compost/chicken manure mixture. I did till up the underlying ground and fertilized with poultry manure in February, but aside from that there's no real ongoing care. And I really wouldn't recommend harvesting any of the crop in the first year- by the second year you can harvest about half and by the third year you can take as much as you want. Hope this helps!

I have, and it is delicious!

I would love to know what ingredients the soil ridge is made from. How much natural soil and how much compost? Has the underlying ground been previously plowed? Also, what is the ongoing care for these plants? Can any of the crop be harvested the first year? This is such a nice, tidy way of gardening. Thanks Allen.
